- This was formerly known as the Humber Observatory and was a new initiative providing environmental monitoring on an hourly basis. Data for tidal, meteorological and estuarine processes were collected from a number of out-stations on an hourly basis and gathered into a home-station situated within the Humber Observatory at the School of Geography and Earth Resources (SGER), The University of Hull. Software systems generated daily, monthly and annual digests of information from each out-station. These systems became operational as from January 1994. More information can be obtained by writing to the Observatory at the above address.
