The Marine Environment Monitoring and Assessment National database (MERMAN) holds UK data collected to fulfil the UK's mandatory monitoring requirements under the Oslo Paris Convention (OSPAR) Joint Assessments and Monitoring Programme (JAMP). These data are used in support of European Commission (EC) directives and national assessments, such as Charting Progress 2 and are also supplied to EMODNET.
MERMAN is hosted by IBM with the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC) acting as the data manager for MERMAN.
To successfully meet the requirements mentioned above deprecated lab codes within the database have been attributed to MERMAN unless further information can be provided.
