Lipu is the association for the conservation of nature, the protection of biodiversity, the promotion of ecological culture in Italy. LIPU is also partner of Birdlife International.
With 30,000 supporters, almost 100 local groups, over 600 active volunteers, dozens of operators, technicians, educators, Lipu is a point of reference for the defense of nature in Italy. Every year we treat more than 15,000 wild animals in difficulty in numerous Recovery Centers or First Aid in various parts of Italy. We manage 30 Oasis and Reserves where nature is protected and people can visit, know it, fall in love with it.
We are a large community of members, volunteers, operators, convinced that the environment plays a very important role for people and society. We want a world where people live in harmony with nature, fairly and sustainably, and we fight for it daily.
Birds are the symbol, the horizon of the Lipu. Their presence, songs, flights, colors represent the beautiful hope of a better world.LIPU strives to protect wildlife with a particular focus on wild birds and their habitats, and through this works for the conservation of biodiversity, the growth of public awareness and environmental education, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
