Data of the Beach Litter Monitoring following the OSPAR guidelines has been collected by NABU volunteers with great continuity and commitment since 2011 at the Island of Fehmarn and is administered by the NABU Marine Conservation Office ever since.
NABU as an NGO has been active for more than 120 years and has more than 770,000 members (in 2020) and supporters in Germany. In addition to protecting species and habitats, NABU is committed to global climate protection and a sustainable European agricultural policy, cares for clean seas and further environmental issues. The particular strength of NABU lies in the professional competence and practical nature conservation work of its active members, who are organized in over 2,000 local groups.
