ENTROPIE is an UMR resulting from the merger of the CoReUs (IRD) and ECOMAR (University of La Réunion and CNRS) units in January 2015.
ENTROPIE brings together ecologists, ecophysiologists and marine geneticists as well as remote sensing and signal processing specialists in a joint project whose objective is to better understand the functioning of marine and island ecosystems in the tropical Indo-Pacific in the context of global change in order to propose strategies for conservation, enhancement and sustainable management.
The originality of ENTROPIE is the integrative approach at different spatio-temporal scales of the evolutionary and resilience processes of reef and offshore ecosystems through human interactions with resources and the environment.
UMR ENTROPIE is located at the IRD centre in Nouméa, New Caledonia, and at the Moufia campus in Saint-Denis La Réunion.
