Our group carries out research on marine macroalgae (red, brown and green algae). Topics range from classical taxonomy to molecular evolution, from auto-ecology to phytosociology, biogeography and phylogeography. The bulk of our research centers on the evolution and biogeography of the algal flora of the Arabian Sea. We're also carrying out a project that involves the development of single copy nuclear markers, an investigation of molecular evolution of actin genes and ancient hybridization in the green algal lineage.
