organisation profile
- Research
by the functional and environmental ecology laboratory (EcoLab) fall
within the field of ecology and environmental science at the interface
between the life sciences, the Universe of Science and Humanities and Company, in a context of sustainable development. The purpose of the laboratory is the combined study of the functioning of communities and ecosystems and their interrelations.
Thus, the research integrates dynamic environments, the role of
biodiversity in ecosystem functions, the influence of disturbance
regimes on biodiversity, dynamics and the effect of pollutants, modeling
of the structure and operation
ecosystems and bio-remediation and restoration of natural environments.
EcoLab
attaches particular to study the responses of organizations /
communities / ecosystems and their interrelationships to external
forcings and enhance this work by developing research completed to meet
the expectations of society, especially in the diagnosis and assessment of the state of the environment, defining new standards and
new indicators of ecosystem health, of biodiversity management,
ecosystem services and, more generally, ecological engineering.
EcoLab
of the research is based on strong industrial partnerships involving
the impacts of human activities on organisms and ecosystems and
ecological engineering. A
joint laboratory was established between EcoLab and Arkema to develop
research on the ecotoxicological effects of carbon nanotubes (CNTs)
multiwall on aquatic organisms.
