Bayworld Centre for Research & Education (BCRE) is a section 21 non-profit organization which administers research funding & assets for Scientists conducting research in the Sciences. BCRE is committed to the skills development and education of Research Assistants, Animal Keepers and prospective Scientists. The Directors of BCRE are all voluntary and are not paid any remuneration. All Scientists are responsible for securing their own research funding and assistants. The administration of BCRE ensures that all contracts are in accordance with correct business practice and Maritime Law. Financial administration is to recognised standards & yearly audits by external auditors & the NRF are undertaken. BCRE administration ensures all procurement of equipment, forex, import permits & asset registers are in accordance with correct business practices. BCRE is a registered employer who conforms to the basic conditions of employment act in the various fields of employment. BCRE is a registered NRF research institution, a member of SANCOR and subscribes to the policies of PAAZAB & WAZA. At present BCRE comprises 28 Scientists, Students & learners and has associations through Scientists with MCM, UTC, RHODES, NMMU, Fort Hare, Wits, Auckland Univ. and has MoU's with Bayworld, NZG, Sea World, JHB Zoo.
