- The Maritime Danube Ports Administration Galati was
founded in 1991 and then reorganized as a national company in 2003.
It is a Joint Stock Company in charge of national public interest activities. Within its 15 years of activity, the firm has built up a solid reputation due to the efficiency and professionalism of the services that it provides.The company manages all the port infrastructure on the Maritime Danube, port land and moorage areas from NM 12,5 to Km 17,5 and Km 251 to Km 255. It also manages the ports of Galati, Braila, Tulcea, Harsova, Isaccea, Mahmudia and the secondary branches of Macin, Chilia and Sf. Gheorghe.
The port infrastructure administered by MDPA Galati is part of the public domain of national interest.
The Maritime Danube Ports Administration Galati is a concessionaire for the public domain that it administers and it deals with:
- Offering maritime and river vessels moorage berths;
- Land-lease to port operators;
- Collecting and managing the ship-generated waste;
- Other port services.
