- Mission Statement
The aim of the Department of Marine Biological Resources is to provide fundamental and advanced science
and advice in the field of fisheries and coastal area management while
supporting the national and E.U. policies in these fields.
Development Strategy
The strategy of development of the Department is:
To conduct research and development in the fields of fisheries and coastal zone management
To promote close collaboration with the other Institutes and research
laboratories of the HCMR in complementing research disciplines;
To assist the development of international efforts on fisheries and coastal area management;
To design and deliver technical assistance programmes as well as
training and dissemination, focusing on the Mediterranean region
(partner countries, third countries and SME's/Unions).
