- The Laboratory of Ecology and Protection of the Environment belongs to the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki. Its activities comprise academic/educational work and research studies in Ecology and Protection of the Environment. The latter cover the fields of analytical methodology, pollution of sea and fresh waters and biota by chemical substances, ecological toxicology, coastal zone management, environmental impact assessment and eutrophication. LEPE/AUTH maintains close collaboration with other research centres, university departments, governmental services and international organizations, participating in research projects, aiming at investigating sea water and biota pollution by agricultural and domestic effluent.
