BENA focusses on the following activities:
- activities of concrete environmental protection measures and of increasing encouraging the general awareness of the need for the protection of the environment and to contribute to the environmental policy of the Community,
- a bridge between the Balkan and the European Union countries where exchange of perspectives, problems and possible solutions relating to environmental problems having the Community dimension would be enhanced,
- a European and Balkan network in collaboration with educators, scientists, economists and specialists where working in partnership will encourage the undertaking of concrete actions and share responsibility for achieving the goal of sustainable development,
- a complete picture by determing and investigating the industrial and commercial present situation of the Balkan countries in relation with the European ones concerning the environmental effects and B.ΕΝ.Α will be the channel to the Commission information and views οη the new and emerging perspectives, such as nature protection and transboundar y environmental problems, which are not being fully dealt with at the Member State or subordinate level.
