Major tasks:- Development of methods and tools for observation, assessment and forecasting of the Caspian environment, as well as for ecological regulation of anthropogenic load on the marine environment;
- Scientific and methodological guidance on observation networks at the Russian coastal zone of the Caspian Sea;
- Contribution to maintaining Unified State Foundation for Environmental and Pollution Status Data;
- Participation in fulfilling international obligations of Russia at the Caspian Sea.
