The Geosciences of the South Pacific Laboratory (GEPASUD) is an internal laboratory of the University of French Polynesia, to which the Observatoire Géodésique de Tahiti (OGT) is attached. It works on 3 major themes: geodetic and geophysical sciences, remote sensing and image processing techniques applied to the Polynesian context, and the development of Web geographic information systems. The laboratory's research themes in Marine Sciences and Techniques are related to : Lagrangian Drift: monitoring of foreign FADs drifting in FP and determination of their origin; Oceanography: Understanding the impact of salinity on climate; Island Effect: study of the interaction between current and island at the origin of phytoplankton enrichment around islands; Analysis of climate variability from satellite data.
