Interactions and Dynamics of Surface Geology (IDES) Objectives : IDES is a laboratory from the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS) and University of Paris-Sud 11. Research conducted in IDES focuses on the study of the environmental and geological processes produced and/or recorded on the surface of Earth and telluric planets like Mars. The "skin" of Earth and or Mars is a dynamic system that results from interactions between the internal and external processes. The research undertaken in IDES laboratory focuses on the measurement and the modelling of these interactions in surface geological environments and their reconstitutions in the past using various methods (geochemistry and geochronology, geophysics, mineralogy, geomorphology, remote sensing,...). Topics :The 8 research topics of IDES are gathered in 3 main themes : * Theme 1: Continental hydrosystems: interaction and dynamics of reservoirs: - Quantification of dynamics and the processes in and towards the aquifers - Dynamics of the continental lakes - Interactions and dynamics in the discontinuous nanoporous media * Theme 2: Process and evolution of terrestrial and planetary surfaces: - Planetary geomorphology: comparative approach Earth-Mars - Quantification of vertical movements of Lithosphere - Volcanology : chronology, tracing and process * Theme 3: Palaeoenvironnements: - Sedimentary dynamics - Physical and chemistry of biominerals, environmental and palaeoenvironnemental implications Doctorial school : Dynamics and Physical Chemistry of the Earth and Planets
