The Centre de Recherches Pétrographiques et Géochimiques (CRPG) focuses its research activity on understanding the Earth system from the formation of the solar system to its current functioning. Within the framework of Marine Science and Technology, the CRPG's research focuses on : the formation of the oceanic crust (processes of formation and crystallization of magmatic liquids, the mid-oceanic wrinkle axis, lava petrology and geochemical tracing), continental erosion and transfer to the oceans (balances of material transfers to the ocean, tracing of erosion and weathering processes) and the cycle of elements on the planet's surface (geochemical tracing of the cycle of elements, environments and marine paleo-environments).
