The Struttura Oceanografica Daphne – Daphne Oceanographic Structure was born in summer 1977, with the setting up of the motorship Daphne. It is the main operating structure of ARPA (Regional Agency for Prevention and Environment), with the aim of controlling and safeguarding marine natural resources, acquiring information on marine ecosystem for public and private use.
