General Command of Mapping (GCM) is by law the National Mapping Agency for TURKEY and responsible for the official topographical mapping of the country in hard-copy and digital forms for

uses.It produces and provides geographic information for defence and development purposes. In doing this, it
• plans, standardizes, produces and maintains geographic materials
• develops and provides customized products to Armed Forces
• Co-operates with national agencies in the field of GI
• Co-operates with foreign services, both military and civilian
• represents Turkey at national&international mapping societies
• carries out demarcation / redemarcation of national boundaries
• trains technical personnel to be employed at GCM
