: The Marine Meteorology Division is a specialised unit within the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia e Geofisica. It maintains a national marine meteorological data base. The data have been collected over some time from different sources on different media, including manuscript forms. The data include wave parameters visually observed, measured and simulated by a numerical model. Sea surface temperature, wind direction and velocity, visibility and nebulosity at locations close to the Portuguese coasts are included. The data could be provided to third parties on a commercial basis.
