The laboratory's activities focus on abiotic and microbial recycling of organic matter in coastal and open ocean in the water column (surface and bottom layers) and the sediment. This type of study requires:

i) the characterization at the molecular level of the main classes of organic compounds at trace

ii) the determination and characterization of cellular functions involved in the degradation processes

iii) a study of the phenomena of bioturbation and changes in redox potential

iv) a statistical and modeling approach of the processes studied
