Pomeranian University in Słupsk is a state school of higher education with a long tradition. It was founded in 1969 as Teacher's College, developing dynamically in the subsequent years to become a modern university offering Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degree courses, pursuing innovative research and cooperating with numerous international partners.

Pomeranian University in Słupsk has been developing rapidly in the past few years, with two more rights to confer doctoral degrees granted (history and literature), and the total number of graduates reaching 50,000. The merger of the Higher Hanseatic School of Management with Pomeranian University in Słupsk in 2016 turned out to be an impulse for the strengthening and the standing of the institution. The University also benefited from European Funds, which were used to equip world-class teaching and research labs in various disciplines, including medical rescue or cybersecurity. The last ten years have also seen an extensive internationalization of Pomeranian University in Słupsk. The institution has signed numerous agreements with European, Asian and American universities. Many foreign students complete part of their studies in Słupsk within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, the Double Degree Programme, the Semester Exchange Programme, among others. More and more frequently foreign languages fill lecture halls and can be heard across campuses.

The aim of University's units is to conduct the research for the Middle Pomerania region.
It offers education in more than 23 fields and 100 specializations both in the system of full-time studies (day studies, free of charge) as well as extramural studies (weekend studies, paid). Pomeranian University educates in 22 fields: Polish Philology, Russian Philology, History, Biology, Geography, Pedagogics, Arts Education, National Security, Tourism and Leisure Studies, English Philology, German Philology, Culture Studies, Political Science, Technical Physics, Technical and IT Education, Nursing, Medical Rescue, Public Health, Environmental Protection, Sociology, Social Works.
Pomeranian University offers post-graduate studies and courses within the area of research carried out.
