The Aquaculture Institute of Torre de la Sal (IATS) is a public research center, it belongs to Council for  Scientific Researches (CSIC), and develops its activity in the area of the marine acuicultura for more than 25 years.
The lines of investigation are divided two Departments: Physiology of Fish Reproduction and Biology, Culture and Pathology of Marine Species. This activity develops in the frame of a narrow collaboration with other both national and international organizations.
The research lines of the IATS are centred on salt-water fishes (sea bass, gilded, turbot, sole...) mollusks and crustaceans (Artemia): Populations Dynamic and Productive Systems, Reproduction and Genetic Improvement, Nutrition and Growth, Pathology of Cultivated Species, Larviculture and Ecotoxicology.
