- The fundamental mission and activities orientation in the Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens (ISARS/NOA) is to conduct research and realise development studies in the domain of Space Applications, providing support to decision makers and environmental/public security organisations. The Institute’s facilities and staff expertise, ascertain the acquisition, archiving, algorithmic development, processing and exploitation of space and airborne data, which represent the Earth’s environment and its dynamics as it is viewed by a variety of multi-spectral/multi-resolution sensors and spectrometers, as well as multi-polarisation/multi-band Synthetic Aperture Radar sensors.
