organisation profile

The UMR is a multydisiplinary laboratory composed of biologists, chemists, and physicists. The studies are aimed at understanding and modelling marine systems within the biosphere. The objective is to define the environment and the organisms characteristics and to determine their interactions. A strong interdisciplinarity is necessary to approach such a complex field as that of the interactions between the diverse marine components. Thus, the research activities concern the Earth and Life Sciences. Since the new contractualisation, in 2004, the UMR 6539 scientific activities are organised in three research themes : + Physics and biochemistry in marine environment + Responses of the coastal ecosystems to global changes + Biology of the interactions and adaptations
